In the past couple of months, I have been planning a week of events to help raise funds for the philanthropy, Circle of Sisterhood, which is an organization that helps send young girls in third world countries to attend school.
Sometimes, I try to remember and respect how privileged I am among other people in the world, but school really sucks haha! Although, it’ll be all worth it at the end. At least I hope so. But I’ve learned that education is important, especially for young women.
Young women in certain countries struggle with personal hygiene, learning how to read, how to say “no” to a man or even finding the courage to stick up for themselves. Women are the reason for most of life. They reproduce which means more children for the world. They deserve to be educated and to be understood.
This past week, I became more active in finding out ways on how to bring awareness to such a beautiful cause. Women who are advocates for other women should bring awareness to the importance of a young girl’s education.
I am grateful to be a part of a community that cares. I also learned that every penny counts. That it is all about awareness. It does not matter how much you can raise, but as long as there is something… it is something.
